Educator Who Laid Foundation for GWU Noel Center for Disability Resources Passes Away
Dr. Jerry Potter, who helped Gardner-Webb University establish a program for the Deaf in the fall of 1977, passed away Sept. 14. His work on this program laid the foundation for what is now the Noel Center for Disability Resources. Gardner-Webb Universityâs Charlotte Center will host a discussion of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) during a Business Horizons Workshop Series session, presented by the GWU Center for Ethics and Entrepreneurship and Godbold School of Business, on Thursday, Nov. 17. The 7:30-9 a.m. program will feature Dr. Van Graham, associate dean of GWUâs Godbold School of Business and an expert in business and employment law. Gardner-Webb Alumnus to Perform Nativity Drama on Campus on Dec. 2
Gardner-Webb University will host stage performer and GWU alumnus Nathan Rouse (â02) on Tuesday, Dec. 2, in the final Dimensions program of the fall semester. Rouse will perform part of the nativity drama, âThe Birth,â a theatrical production he has directed and performed for nine years to tell the Christmas story through the monologue perspectives of the innkeeper, the wise man, and the shepherd. Recipient of Compassion International Sponsorship to Speak at Gardner-Webb
The Dimensions program at Gardner-Webb University is pleased to welcome Olive Aneno, who as a child was sponsored by Compassion International, as its distinguished speaker. The Ugandan native will share her personal story and compelling message with students on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 9:25 a.m. in the Paul Porter Arena, located inside the Lutz-Yelton Convocation Center (LYCC).
